Saying Goodbye to WordPress

If you have followed me as I have switched between domains and created new content, then it is no surprise that I have once again switched it up a bit. I have migrated from WordPress to Hugo.

Hugo is a “static” website generator that can also act as a server for the content. I was pleased to find that the themes available for free on the Hugo website are of good quality and are easy to install. As you can see, the site is now using the Beautiful Hugo theme. It’s just as simple as before but now hopefully easer to read and fills more of the white space my mutuals have complained about.

Why I chose Hugo?

No particular reason other than me wanting to try to host a static site again. This time, I wanted to have organization and ease of use (no code), meaning I didn’t want to have to sit down and create my own theme.

How difficult was site migration?

Migration was so easy I feel like something is bound to be broken.

I have a much longer post coming up on how I migrated. As of now, I am concurrently using Hostinger, Porkbun, WordPress, and Hugo. Post migration I am aiming to use GitHub and Porkbun, but it is looking more like Hostinger (VPS), Porkbun (DNS), and GitHub (Code repository).

I will miss all of the comments, and I may in the future re-add comments with a plugin that works with this theme. For any website related questions, contact me on my socials!
